The main advantage of the arthroscopic technique lies in the reduction of the number and size of the incisions, which considerably speeds up recovery.
What is arthroscopic surgery?
Although it is a term that is becoming more popular every day, many people continue to wonder what an arthroscopic procedure is. In short, the answer is that arthroscopic surgery is a technique that allows surgeries to be carried out in a less invasive way which minimizes the damage that an operation causes as well as reduces scarring, the result of which being faster recovery times for the patient.
The arthroscopic surgical technique consists of inserting a small camera (arthroscope) into the joint, allowing us to see the injury in a minimally-invasive way while performing the surgery. Then, to repair the injury, needed surgical instruments (arthroscopic forceps, arthroscopic scalpel, arthroscopic scissors, etc) are introduced through additional small incisions, resulting in an equally-successful repair with less damage and fewer scars than traditional surgical methods.
ARTHROSCOPIC SURGERIES WE PERFORM:
Arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder
Arthroscopic surgery of the elbow
